Breast fibroadenomas are benign masses and rarely turn malignant. Palpable mass, pain, stiffness, hormone-active women may require surgery due to growth. Ablation techniques, which are an alternative to surgery, can be prevented from growing by killing the cells that make up the mass by heating (microwave, radiofrequency laser), freezing (cryoablation) or chemically alcohol ablation, and even by introducing them to immune cells, it is possible to make them disappear by shrinking.
